Your Implant Patients Are Asking ChatGPT First. Are You in the Answer?
By Kate Bakker · October 2026 · 6 min read
The short answer
Implant patients research for weeks, and many now ask AI which practice to trust. AI recommends the practices it can verify for that treatment: a dedicated implant page, the dentist's training, reviews that mention implants, clear financing details and matching listings. Then your front office has to turn that call into a consult.
How do implant patients choose a practice?
Slowly. An implant is a significant decision, so patients compare, read reviews and ask a lot of questions before they ever call. Who has the most experience? Will it hurt? How long does it take? Can I finance it?
More of those questions now go straight to ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity. And instead of ten websites to compare, the patient gets a short list of names, with reasons.
What does AI look for before it names a dental practice?
- A page about implants, not a line in a list. AI can't recommend you for implants if your site barely mentions them.
- The dentist behind the work. Training, specialties and experience, connected to the practice on every profile.
- Reviews that mention the treatment. Patients describing their implant experience in their own words.
- Practical details. Financing, insurance, hours and what the first visit includes.
- Matching listings. The same name, address and services on Google, Yelp, Apple Maps and dental directories.
What should your implant page answer?
Write it the way a patient asks. Each question below deserves a clear, direct answer near the top of its section:
- Am I a good candidate for dental implants?
- What happens at each step, from consult to final tooth?
- How long does the whole process usually take?
- What affects the cost, and what financing do you offer?
- Who will do my procedure, and what's their training?
- What happens at my first consultation?
Keep medical claims accurate and within healthcare advertising rules, and never use patient information without consent.
What happens when the implant patient calls?
This is where many practices lose them. The patient asks about cost or insurance, hears an answer that sounds like a no, and keeps shopping.
A better call welcomes the question, explains what affects the cost, mentions financing, and books the consultation where the dentist can give a real plan. And when a patient isn't ready, a thoughtful follow-up a few days later brings many of them back. See how we train front offices.
How do you check where your practice stands?
Ask the questions yourself, in a fresh session: "Best dentist for dental implants in [your city]." "Who is the most experienced implant dentist near [your neighborhood]?" Note who gets named, and why. Here's the full 10-question check.
Questions about implant patients and AI
Should a dental practice list implant prices online?
At least explain what affects the cost and what financing you offer. Patients and AI both look for it, and a clear explanation builds more trust than silence.
Do before-and-after photos help?
They can help patients decide, when they're used with written patient consent and within advertising rules. AI relies more on text, so pair photos with clear written explanations.
Does this apply to Invisalign and other treatments?
Yes. Any high-value treatment benefits from its own page, its own reviews and a front office that knows how to book the consult.
